Pregnancy Makes me a Softie

I just posted the following comment to a friend’s facebook wall, and thought I’d share it here because it’s just one example of how I’ve become oddly emotional toward things I wouldn’t normally care so much about:

I tear up at that dish washing liquid commercial with the animals covered in oil. And then the dish soap cleans them right up. That stuff SAVES LIVES! Cute little animal lives!

It just occurred to me that the Dawn marketing people probably covered those poor little animals in goop before the commercial so they could clean it off again. Like, they probably didn’t rescue these guys from an oil spill and whisk them to the set. It was totally an intentional gooping. Now I’m doubly sad.
